Cape Winemakers Guild member, Sebastian Beaumont has created some of South Africa's benchmark wines, notably the Beaumont Hope Marguerite Chenin Blanc. Producing wines that proudly express their Bot River origin is key to Sebastian’s philosophy and by using very simple winemaking techniques of natural fermentation in concrete fermenters and mostly older oak he is able to capture the purity and character of some of the 40-year-old vines.
Here we have an offering you won't come across too often, two of Sebastian's personal experiments, namely a barrel-fermented 2018 Chenin Blanc and a 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon which according to Sebastien are well worth drinking!
Which way are we leaning: Rooibos or regular? Milk: yes or no? The standard sugar inquiry, a two-part question if the first answer is yes.
And if you have your black belt in tea-making, one final question concerning the tea bag: in or out?
How are you supposed to remember that all if you're making tea for, oh say, 3 people?
It doesn't concern today's deals at all, but we had to think about something while we waited for the kettle to boil.
